Norman Barker, affectionately known by fans as ‘Headphones Norm’, was taken ill during the match against Portsmouth at The Valley on Saturday, December 6.
Play was stopped in the 12th minute while fellow fans, first responders and club staff were on hand to assist him.
He later died in hospital.
Mr Barker was a regular fixture at matches, home and away, for four decades, always spotted at the Valley donning his headphones, Charlton emblem-adorned ‘Davy Crockett’ hat, and his vest sporting a multitude of football-related badges.
He was the living embodiment of an ardent Addick, forever cheering his team on through thick and thin.
His resolute dedication earned him the Colin Cameron Supporter of the Year award this year, presented to him by men’s first-team manager, Nathan Jones.
In 2020, his journey as a fan and his unyielding dedication to the club caught the eye of Charlton Athletic, earning him a feature in their season ticket campaign for the 2020/21 season.
Charlton Athletic will honour Norman’s life when the club host Middlesbrough at The Valley on Tuesday evening.
A spokesperson for Charlton Athletic said: “Norman will be truly missed by all at Charlton Athletic and everyone at the club sends their heartfelt condolences to his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”
