Emergency services were called to Central Avenue in Welling this morning (March 29) at around 8:46am to a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
Officers from Metropolitan Police attended along with ambulance crews.
The pedestrian – a man in his 40s – was taken to hospital with a potentially life-changing injury to his arm.
Road closures remain in place as investigations continue.
The 51 bus route is being diverted between Bellegrove Road and Edison Road in both directions via Bellegrove Road and Wickham Street.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “At 08:46hrs on Saturday, 29 March police were called to a road traffic collision in Central Avenue, Welling involving a car and a pedestrian.
“Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service.
“The pedestrian, a 46-year-old man, was taken to hospital with a potentially life changing arm injury.
“The road remains closed while officers investigate the incident.”
