Earl Junior Strachan, 33, was arrested in Scotland on the evening of October 21 and taken into custody in London.
Yesterday (October 23) he was charged with possession of a knife and murder.
Thompson, 27, was stabbed to death at around 3am on October 15 on Rushey Green.
Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated Sanchini for stab wounds. Despite their best efforts, he sadly later died in hospital.
Sanchini’s family have been informed of the charge and continue to receive support from police.
Strachan has been remanded in custody and is appearing at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court today (October 24).
