Police were called at 3.06am to reports of a stabbing on Rushey Green today (October 15).
Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated a man for stab wounds before taking him to hospital.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was later pronounced dead.
A murder investigation has been launched and a crime scene remains in place.
No arrests have been made at this stage, and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 03:06hrs on Wednesday, 15 October to Rushey Green, SE6 following reports of a stabbing.
“Met officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, who treated a man in his 20s for stab wounds before taking him to a nearby hospital.
“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he died from his injuries.
“A murder investigation has been launched and a crime scene is in place.
“There has been no arrests.
“Enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.”
