Officers were called to Mountsfield Park around 8am on October 15 where a man was treated for stab wounds and taken to hospital.
It has been confirmed he is still receiving treatment in hospital – but officers are still unable to state the severity of his condition.
The park stabbing came hours after another man was stabbed around 3am the same morning on nearby Rushey Green.
The victim, a man in his 20s known locally as Sanch or the nickname Stains, later died.
A murder investigation is underway.
There have been no arrests in relation to either incident, which are not being treated as linked by detectives.
A Met Police spokesperson said about the Mountsfield Park stabbing: “Police were called at 8.11am on Wednesday, October 15 to Mountsfield Park, SE6 following reports of a stabbing.
“Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated a man for stab wounds.
“He was taken to hospital where he remains, we await an update on his condition. A crime scene is in place at the location.
“At this early stage, no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. If you have any information about the incident, please call police on 101 stating CAD1390/15Oct.
