Police were called to Longhill Road at 6.30pm on Friday (April 4) following reports of an altercation between two men.
They attended alongside the London Ambulance Service.
Upon arrival, they found a man in his 30s suffering from stab wounds.
He was taken to hospital, where his injuries have been assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening.
A 56-year-old man from Hackney was arrested at the scene on suspicion of wounding with intent.
He is currently in custody.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Around 18:30hrs on Friday, 4 April, officers attended Longhill Road, Lewisham, following reports of an altercation between two men.
“They attended alongside the London Ambulance Service.
“Upon arrival, they found a man in his 30s suffering from stab wounds.
“He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening.
“A 56-year-old man from Hackney was arrested at the scene on suspicion of wounding with intent.
“He is currently in custody.”
