A 19-year-old woman reported that she had been raped in the early hours of the morning on Thursday (October 9) in Euston Road.
She continues to be supported by specialist officers.
Hassan Sarout, 21, of no fixed address, was arrested on Friday, (October 10) and formally charged with rape the next day.
He is set to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (October 13).
The attack occurred near a hospital where officers attended and secured the area as a crime scene and launched early enquiries.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police investigating a report of rape which occurred in Euston Road in Camden have charged a man.
“Hassan Sarout, 21 (23.12.2003) of no fixed address was charged with rape on Saturday, 11 October.
“A 19-year-old woman reported at 03:31hrs on Thursday, October 9 that she had “been raped in the early hours of the morning.
“She continues to be supported by specialist officers.
“Officers attended the location, which was near a hospital, as part of early enquiries and a crime scene was put in place.
“Sarout was arrested in relation to the incident on Friday, 10 October. He will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 13 October.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
