The discovery was made near the Butler’s Wharf Pier at around 10.30am on December 9.
Officers, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade attended and recovered the body of a woman from the water.
She has been identified and her family has been informed.
Her death is being treated as unexpected, but while the circumstances will be investigated there is nothing to indicate it is suspicious.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at around 10:30hrs on Monday, 9 December to reports that a body had been seen in the River Thames near Butler’s Wharf, Shad Thames.
“Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade and recovered the body of female from the water. She was deceased.
“The female has been identified and her family has been informed.
“Her death is being treated as unexpected, but while the circumstances will be investigated there is nothing to indicate it is suspicious.”
