Located on Drury Lane, just a stone’s throw from the Gillian Lynne Theatre, this unique bar transports you back to the 90s when VHS tapes weren’t seen as “retro” and the Spice Girls were all the rage.

The bar is located underneath a mock-up VHS shop, rather like the Blockbusters we visited as kids, where you are taken behind the door of a Pepsi drinks machine and into a time machine transporting you into a 90s house.
Think cosy chairs, 90s pop star posters and games, and all the toys we’d have circled in the Argos catalogue to be under the tree.

The menu is set up like a “Smash Hits” magazine and features a range of cocktails with classics that were a hit in the 90s, like a Cosmopolitan, Woo Woo and Margarita.
But for me the stars of the show were their 90s-themed cocktails inspired by iconic pop culture moments of the era.

There was one named It’s Britney, B*tch – a fruity cocktail with raspberry, vodka and lime served in a Britney Spears-shaped head mug, which we tried and it was delicious.
But my personal favourite was the Kevin – a punchy cocktail with apple and pear, served in a cup fashioned after his likeness from the original film poster.

Another of my favourites that I tried was The Brick, which was a slightly more spicy take on a Pina Colada with spiced rum, and came served in a Nokia 5110.
But if you get hungry you can also order from their range of pizzas, with either a 12 or 20-inch on offer if you want to share with friends.
But aside from the drinks the bar itself has so much to offer and it felt like a time capsule full of 90s toys and games you could play on with friends.

90s music is played in the bar and they also offer karaoke nights if you fancy belting out your favourite hit with your friends.
All I can say is that this place is truly a hidden gem and a must-visit for anyone who grew up in the 90s, the vibes were great, the spirits were up and I’m not just talking about the drinks!
Bunga 90 is open daily from Tuesday to Sunday with slots bookable online.
