Andrew Clark was attacked outside Sainsbury’s on Upper Elmers End Road around 8.30pm on Sunday (March 16).
The 43-year-old fought for his life for three days but police confirmed he died yesterday (March 19).
Demiesh Williams, 29, of Fir Tree Gardens, Croydon was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent on March 18.
He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court the same day and was taken into custody.
He will next appear at the Old Bailey on April 15.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson previously said: “On Sunday, 16 March police were called to Upper Elmers End Road, Bromley at 20:24hrs following reports of an assault.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.21pm on Sunday 16 March to reports of an assault on Upper Elmers End Road, Beckenham.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road.”
