This is part of their ’60 for 60′ initiative, which aims to recruit 60 new volunteers in the year of Bromley’s 60th anniversary.
The new recruits will help more young people currently on waiting lists to participate in activities and learn life skills.

The Mayor of Bromley, Councillor David Jefferys, recently met with Bromley Scouts and their leaders to show his support for the campaign.
He said: “I strongly encourage any who can spare some time to get involved with Bromley Scouts, who deliver such incredible opportunities for our young people across the borough.
“Given the huge number of passionate volunteers I regularly encounter, it was of no surprise that Bromley has the largest Scout District in the country.
“So, as we celebrate successes like these for our borough in our 60th anniversary year, I hope more residents will find opportunities like these to get involved locally and help our great borough to continue to thrive.”

Shelia Howard, lead volunteer for Bromley District Scouts, said: “Thanks to the contributions of all our incredible volunteers, we are able to give over 3,000 young people exciting and rewarding opportunities each week.
“We are now looking for 60 passionate volunteers to join us for the 60 years of Bromley, which will mean that many of those currently on our waiting lists will be able to join the fun and start learning skills for life, which is what scouting is all about.”
Volunteers are needed for all levels of contribution, from helping out on occasional evenings to assisting on camping adventures.
Those with skills, hobbies, or interesting jobs that could be shared are particularly sought after.
Anyone interested in joining the Scouts can find more information and get involved at www.bromleyscouts.org/join.
After the necessary checks, volunteers could soon be helping to support their local group.
The Mayor’s visit to the Scouts and their leaders was part of a wider initiative to share information about their activities with councillors at Bromley Civic Centre.
