Bromley Council has introduced new rules affecting parking and loading in different parts of the borough.
These changes started on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
The decision comes following the creation of a series of amendments to orders from 2003 and 2004, officially made on October 21, 2025, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The changes involve constant waiting restrictions on several roads, including Avenue Road, Barnhill Avenue, Broadoaks Way, Cloisters Avenue, and Cobalt Close.
These rules mean drivers are not allowed to wait at any time on specific parts of these roads.
Other roads with the same rules include Elm Grove, Empress Drive, Highland Road, Manor Park Close, Newlands Park, Pickhurst Park, Ravenscroft Road, Shirley Crescent, Strickland Way, Taylor Close, The Fairway, and Westbourne Road.
In all these areas, drivers will need to check the exact sections of the roads where the rules apply.
The new rules also set fixed waiting times for certain roads.
For instance, on Manor Park Close, West Wickham, drivers cannot wait from Monday to Friday, between 8.30am and 6.30pm.
The council has also introduced new loading restrictions.
For example, on Empress Drive, Chislehurst, drivers will not be able to load at any time on certain sections.
In other changes, a new motorcycle parking bay will be installed in Queensway, Petts Wood.
This parking bay will be available for use at any time.
The council has amended an existing permit holders’ parking bay on Highland Road, Bromley.
The bay will now run from 16m north of the north-eastern kerbline of Madeira Avenue northward to a point 1m south of the northern boundary of No.14 Highland Road.
The rules also include details of prohibitions and exemptions for certain vehicles and people.
