Bromley Council has launched a consultation for the borough’s Local Plan, inviting input from locals, businesses, and community groups.
This is the next part of the Local Plan review, which is looking for views on the draft vision and objectives.
The Local Plan is the central planning document for Bromley, offering guidelines in key areas such as housing, employment, and leisure.
The review ensures the borough’s social, environmental, and economic priorities align with national and London-wide planning policies.
Councillor Yvonne Bear, executive councillor for renewal, recreation and housing, said: “We want as many local residents and businesses as possible to get involved and help shape the future of our borough.
“It is so important that our priorities are reflected in our planning policy.
“The feedback we receive at this stage can help guide our approach in creating a Local Plan that supports our ambitions for Bromley and protects the unique character of our borough, from the beautiful green spaces to thriving town centres and everything in between.”
The consultation is set to run for nine weeks and will end on September 26.
It follows previous engagement efforts, including the ‘call for sites’ and the ‘issues and options’ consultations.
The insights gained from these past consultations have already helped shape the current consultation, and feedback from this round will contribute to the full draft of policies, which will be shared in another consultation next year.
Residents are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the ‘Direction of Travel’ document and supporting materials before responding.
Key documents can be accessed in local libraries or at Bromley Civic Centre by appointment.
Responses can be made online.
A series of free online engagement sessions will explain key areas of the Local Plan review and address any questions.
The first session is scheduled for August 4.
Further information about these consultation events can be found on the council’s website.
