The London Ambulance Service was called at around 12.30pm today (August 7) after a collision in Brentwood Road.
Two ambulance crews and two paramedics were sent to the scene.
A person was treated at the scene and then taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.
The road remains partially blocked with very slow traffic both ways.
A detour is in operation for bus routes 165 and 294.
Westbound, bus stops from ‘The Drill Roundabout’ to ‘Brentwood Road’ will not be served.
Eastbound, bus stops from ‘Romford Station’ to ‘Salisbury Road’ will not be served.
Transport for London (TfL) advise travellers to allow extra time for their journeys.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.36pm today (August 7) to reports of a road traffic collision in Brentwood Road, Romford.
“We sent two ambulance crews and two paramedics in fast response cars to the scene.
“The first paramedic arrived in less than four minutes.
“We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
