Talking to education experts, while looking at the Good Schools Guide, GCSE results, class sizes, and extracurricular activities, the Daily Mail has produced a list of the 100 best state schools in Britain.
Among the list is Brampton Manor in Roman Road.
The news outlet wrote: “This east London mixed-sex academy with a sixth form sent more pupils to Oxbridge than Eton in 2022, with head Dayo Olukoshi given an OBE in 2016 for services to education.

“In 2025, 72.6 per cent of all GCSE results were graded at a 5 or above, 16.2 percentage points above the local authority average.”
The percentage of pupils earning a 5 or above in English and maths at GCSE this year was 72.6.
Executive Principal Dayo Olukoshi OBE told the Recorder: “I am incredibly proud of our students and their achievements.

“Success at Brampton isn’t just about the academic qualifications that our students achieve (important though they are).
“It is very much about the wider aspects of their development and this is why we invest heavily in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to boost their resilience and independence whilst also enriching their cultural capital.”
In 2012 and 2018, Ofsted visited the school and twice deemed it ‘Outstanding’.
Since then, a monitoring visit in 2021 and an inspection in 2024 saw the school continue to perform at an outstanding level.
Mr Olukoshi added: “I am grateful for the support of our parents and our amazing staff.
“We will never rest on our laurels as our best days are still ahead of us.”
