The boy, who has been named locally as Kelyan, died in Woolwich Church Road shortly before 2.30pm yesterday (January 7).
A spokesperson from St Columba’s told the Metro that it is saddened by the loss of the boy who was briefly a pupil at its school in 2022.
It added: “We are saddened by the loss of life in Woolwich yesterday of a young boy who was briefly a pupil of St Columba’s in 2022.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
“Our schools will provide support to any of the students who may be affected by this senseless violence.”
The boy, believed to be an online rapper known as “Grippa,” was stabbed on the 472 bus.
Emergency services treated him at the scene, but he died shortly after medics arrived.
He had recently released a music video titled Bangers N Mash on Christmas Day.
Tributes have poured in on social media, with friends describing him as “taken too soon” and “gone but never forgotten.” One comment read, “Life is no joke. Once you are gone, you’re gone. RIP.”
Deputy Commander Louise Sargent called the attack a “horrendous crime” and assured the public that police are working to identify those responsible.
She said: “This is a worrying time for everyone here in Woolwich, especially given the young age of the victim.”
The incident came just a day after another stabbing near Shooters Hill, where an 18-year-old boy was critically injured. Police confirmed the two stabbings are not linked.
Anyone with information related to the bus stabbing is urged to contact police on 101, quoting reference 3795/07JAN25, or call Crimestoppers anonymously.
