Daniel Levy, 48, of Bondway, Lambeth, was charged with murder today (January 3) following his arrest on New Year’s Day (January 1).
The arrest and charge comes after police discovered the body of 41-year-old Kaleem Shaik, an Indian national, in the property on Bondway in Lambeth on New Year’s Day.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday (January 5).
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts are with Kaleem’s family at this very difficult time.
“My team is not currently seeking any additional suspects in relation to this tragic incident.
“We understand the concern this will have caused the local community and residents can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days.”
