Concerns for the welfare of a woman was reported near the shopping centre in Greenhithe just before 4.35pm on January 19.
A search was carried by police and paramedics later confirmed a woman in her 50s had been found dead.
The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report is being completed for the coroner.
A large emergency service presence had been seen by shoppers near John Lewis and the area had been cordoned off, as reported by Kent Online.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “At around 4.37pm on Sunday 19 January 2025, patrols along with other emergency services attended a location in Greenhithe in connection with concerns for the welfare of a woman.
“Following a search, a body was located and paramedics confirmed a woman in her 50s to be deceased.
“The woman’s next of kin have been informed. The death is being treated as non-suspicious and a report is being completed for the coroner.”
