On Sunday, December 14, Hangloose Adventure at Bluewater Shopping Centre, Kent, will be holding their Charity Santa Flights.
In aid of BLAZE, a childhood brainstem cancer charity, guests will be able to get into the Christmas spirit while shooting down England’s longest zipline in full Santa suits.
The zipline, which is 720 metres long, will see people reach speeds of up to 50 mph.
Tickets for the event will cost £40, with 50 per cent of all ticket sales being donated to BLAZE.
BLAZE is a local charity which was founded by Hangloose instructors Ellen and Owen, and their family, in memory of their younger brother Benjamin, who tragically died from a rare and aggressive brain tumour (DIPG) in 2021 at the age of 11.
The charity funds research into childhood brain tumours, raises awareness of early symptoms, and provides support, gifts, and experiences for affected families.
Brian Phelps, managing director of Hangloose Adventure, said: “Our Santa Flight at Bluewater has a really special meaning for the team.
“Blaze Charity was founded by two of our own instructors in memory of their younger brother, so being able to support them and help raise money for such an important cause means a lot to all of us.
“Christmas is about bringing people together and creating lasting memories, and that’s exactly what we wanted to do this year.”
Those taking part in the day will also be provided with Santa suits to wear during their flight.
Participants will be able to fly solo or side-by-side.
Free parking, lockers, and viewing areas are also available for guests.
Before taking off, all guests will be fully briefed and equipped with safety gear by experienced instructors.
There will also be accessible slots for disabled guests or those who need extra assistance, with carers able to fly for free.
Set against the chalk cliffs of an old quarry and gliding over Bluewater’s scenic lakes, the zip line is just a stone’s throw from Bluewater Shopping Centre and only 35 minutes from London’s O2 Arena.
