Croydon Council is responsible for the collection of household waste and recycling.
They offer services including general rubbish bins, recycling bins, food waste collections, and garden waste services.
The dates of bin collection will vary depending on which part of Croydon you live in.
To find out when your bin day is, check the Croydon Council website.
The binmen will collect or empty your bin as long as it is out by 6am on your collection date.
They will collect if your bin can be seen easily and on the edge of your property where it meets the main road.
Those living in flats in Croydon should leave their bins in their communal waste collection areas on by the designated collection day.
They will not collect it, however, if the bin is not left for collection at the edge of the property.
If your bin contains waste that should be in a different bin, it will not be collected.
It will also not be collected if the bin is overflowing or if the lid doesn’t close.
If a bin has been missed despite meeting the requirements by Croydon Council, residents must report it on the website within two working days, from 10pm on the day of the collection.
