The well-known 5km course saw runners, joggers, and walkers take part amid encouraging cheers from the crowd on Saturday, June 7.

Participants lined up with great enthusiasm as they started on the scenic course weaving through the park’s grassy landscape.

Leading the way among the men was Jonathan Sargent of Cambridge Harriers, who dashed across the finish line in an impressive 18 minutes and 41 seconds.

Jonathan Jones followed at 19 minutes and 50 seconds, closely chased by Tim Sowter of Bromley Veterans AC at 19 minutes and 51 seconds.

Pacing the women’s contingent, Abigail Case registered the best female time, finishing at 23 minutes and 21 seconds.

Elizabeth May of Central Park Athletics and Lisa McCarthy of Raheny Shamrock AC followed with times of 23 minutes and 50 seconds, and 25 minutes and 31 seconds, respectively.

The park’s picturesque natural tapestry provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable morning of athleticism and fun.

While the participants have been acknowledged for their commendable efforts, the parkrun organisers expressed gratitude for the essential support volunteers provided, contributing to this community event’s overall joyous spirit.
