Environmental health officers from Bexley have been busy this fortnight visiting businesses across the area to see if they are meeting hygiene requirements.

Based on guidelines set by the Food Standards Agency, inspectors look to see how clean the facilities are; what food safety management procedures are in place and how hygienic food handling is.

Ratings are then dished out from five to zero — with the higher score the better the result.

Maddison’s Bakery at 156 Long Lane, Bexleyheath, rated 5 on July 1, 2025.

Mornington Bakery rated 5 on July 3, 2025.

Nourish Contract Catering At Bursted Wood Primary School at Bursted Wood Primary School, Swanbridge Road, rated 5 on July 4, 2025.

Pop In Shop at 339 Bexley Road, Erith, rated 5 on July 1, 2025.

Rossi Ice rated 5 on July 3, 2025.

Running Horses at Running Horses Public House, Erith High Street, rated 5 on July 4, 2025.

Ye Olde Black Horse at 43 Halfway Street, Sidcup, rated 5 on July 3, 2025.

Businesses may have been reinspected since and this will be reflected in our next round-up.
