The penalties were included in the government’s quarterly report on Illegal Working Civil Penalties, which lists UK employers who received fines between July 1 and September 30, 2024.
The report was published on February 28, 2025.
The Bexley-based businesses named in the list are:
- Rose Beauty Hub Limited, fined £40,000, operates a beauty salon at 141 Broadway, Bexleyheath, DA6 7EZ. The salon offers a menu of classic beauty treatments, including polish and gel manicures and pedicures.
- Rafah Ltd, fined £15,000, is a care provider operating from Office Zone 2, The Workary, 1st Floor, Welling Library, Bellegrove Road, Welling, DA16 3PA. The NHS service offers homecare for adults, including people with dementia, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.
- CTP Contractors Limited, fined £10,000, is a construction company based at 13 Montpelier Avenue, Bexley, DA5 3AP. Registered in 2013, the business operates in the building completion and finishing sector under SIC code 43390.
Under government rules, employers can be fined if they fail to carry out proper right-to-work checks on employees.
A business may be penalised if it had reason to believe a person did not have legal permission to work in the UK, such as expired leave, work restrictions, or false documents.
The Home Office warns that employers found guilty of knowingly hiring illegal workers can face up to five years in prison and unlimited fines.
The civil penalties are part of the government’s broader efforts to enforce immigration compliance and make examples of employers who break the rules.
