The community gathered on Sunday, November 2, for the parade, which takes place in advance to enable members of the Armed Forces to attend commemorations at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.
Every year a wreath is laid at the memorial for PC Keith Blakelock, a police officer murdered during the Broadwater Farm riots in October 1985.
The parade then made its way along Muswell Hill Broadway to the Royal British Legion, accompanied by Brass Band London, led by Martyn Stogden
A service was held in the Legion’s Memorial Garden, conducted by Revd Nicholas Pnematicatos, with North London Voices taking part under the direction of Marcus Bartlett.
Branch chairman Timothy Peters said: “It has been so wonderful to watch this event grow, with our best attendance to date, and more community involvement every year.”
Also in attendance were the Deputy Lieutenant of Haringey Captain Peter Baker, Mayor of Haringey Ahmed Mahbub, Hornsey and Friern Barnet MP Catherine West, and the Pearly Royal Family of Highgate, the Scotts.
Attending emergency responders included London Fire Brigade (A32 Hornsey) and the Metropolitan Police.
Others present included branch patrons Sir Andrew and Lady Indu Smith; councillors Cathy Brennan and Nick de Costa; the riders from Ride to Remembrance; Scoutmaster Henry Swann and Noah Burbage of the 22nd Hampstead Group; Judith Prinsley and Edward Miller from Muswell Hill Synagogue, as well as Standards William Strachan and Andrew Wong.
On Friday, November 7, and Saturday, November 8, the Muswell Hill and Highgate Branch of the Royal British Legion will be opposite Planet Organic on Muswell Hill Broadway, selling poppies and other items.
Remembrance Sunday is on November 9.
