Police were called to a stabbing at a property on Beresford Road at 4.16pm on Tuesday, October 28.
A woman in her 60s received treatment at the scene from London Ambulance Service paramedics before being taken to hospital.
Her injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.
Lawrance Udall, 32, of Walton Way in Mitcham, has now been charged with attempted murder.
He appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 31, and was remanded in custody.
He will next appear in court at the Old Bailey on Friday, November 28.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident with no further threat to the wider public. The investigation continues.”
