A vintage train with carriages dating back 100 years will be passing through south east London this week.

This Friday (June 27) trainspotters will have the chance to catch a glimpse of 1920s Pullman carriages being hauled by a Class 67 diesel locomotive.

The journey, which will make a round trip from London Victoria to Dover Priory in Kent, is run by Belmond and is part of their ongoing Murder Mystery experience, where guests will have the chance to dine aboard these historic carriages whilst they attempt to solve the case of a murder.

The locomotive will be pulling restored 1920s train carriages that would have once transported the age’s most famous and wealthy passengers.

To this day the renovated carriages are each named after some of their most famous passengers, like Vera Lynn and Audrey Hepburn, and feature vintage lighting and heritage upholstery, while offering customers the chance to have a five-course dining experience on board.

First beginning at London Victoria at 10:59am, the journey will travel through south east London, passing through stations Bromley South and Bellingham, before making its way into Kent and finishing at Dover Priory.

It will then return to London Victoria in the early afternoon, where it will call at Orpington and Beckenham Junction.
