Vistry Group and L&Q have completed the highest point of the third phase of the Beam Park project, located on the former Ford manufacturing site bordering Dagenham and Rainham.
The scheme is delivering 520 new homes for Barking and Dagenham Council as part of a wider eight-phase masterplan that will eventually deliver around 4,000 homes.

A topping out ceremony was held on October 1 to mark the occasion, attended by representatives from the Greater London Authority (GLA), the Mayor of London, Barking and Dagenham Council, and Be First.
Andrew Savege, development director at Be First, the council’s housing arm, said: “This is the best possible example of the power of partnership, delivering for the people of Barking and Dagenham, creating Beam Park as one of London’s most attractive neighbourhoods, that will become a great place to live, work and thrive.”

The 520 homes, secured by the council through a forward-funded acquisition in 2022, will be split evenly between ‘affordable’ and market rent.
The first two phases have already delivered 1,158 homes along with a health centre, nursery, primary school, and green spaces.
Tom Copley, deputy mayor for housing and residential development, said: “I’m delighted to see progress being made at Beam Park with 520 homes being delivered.
“Nearly half of these are affordable tenures, making a huge difference to the local community alongside a new outside courtyard space.”
Once complete, Beam Park will also include retail units, two schools, a gym, a nursery, a multi-faith centre, and two energy centres.
More than half of the development is set to be dedicated to open space.
The wider Beam Park site will see almost 4,000 homes built across eight phases.
