Remembrance Sunday services and parades were held across the borough, with Barnet mayor Cllr Danny Rich, laying wreaths at the war memorial at St Kilda’s and Finchley United Services Club, the Watling Community Centre and at the war memorial in Arkley.

Cllr Rich said: “The huge scale of the loss of life in the two world wars and all other conflicts is near unimaginable.
“It is important we come together each year to remember their sacrifice, and that of their loved ones.
“I felt honoured to have the privilege of laying wreaths in their memory on behalf of our borough.”

Barnet’s deputy mayor Cllr Edith Ngozi David attended the Hendon service, and past mayors and representatives paid respects at other services and war memorials in the borough.
Wreaths were also sent to Barnet’s twin towns, Chaville and Le Raincy in France for their Remembrance services on Armistice Day (November 11).
