Daisy Turner took part in the ESG All Female Plumbing and Electrical competition and came out on top.
The 25-year-old Barking and Dagenham College student had to complete a pipework project with just a technical drawing to work to and was marked on accuracy, pipe wastage and work area tidiness.
She won in the contest staged at Oaklands College in Hertfordshire and took away a pack out, laser level, gas analyser and a blow torch as her prize.
“These are going to come in handy at work,” she said. “I loved taking part in the competition but couldn’t believe I had won.”
It doesn’t stop there — Daisy reckons on entering yet more trade competitions.
Her college tutor Lee Regan said: “She has an insane ability to stay calm in high stress situations — yet always kept me on my toes.”
Daisy is no stranger to winning, having won HIP Magazine’s Female Skills contest and named its 2024 learner of the year.
