The competition, known as the LAS Cup, is organised for staff and to raise money for the London Ambulance Charity, which supports frontline staff with well-being initiatives and CPR training.
The Barking Tigers, a team made up of 111 call handlers, won the tournament after a final against the Deptford Panthers, a team of ambulance crews from Deptford Ambulance Station and former champions.
Samir Patel, a 111 health advisor and team manager for the Barking Tigers, said: “It was an amazing feeling to win.
“The game was a rematch of the 2022 match with Deptford, so nerves were high but winning was such a relief.
“We had an excellent team.
“We worked together to get our tactics right on the pitch by understanding our strengths and weaknesses.”
The tournament, which saw 14 teams made up of various LAS staff compete at Burgess Park, raised £900 for the London Ambulance Charity.
The charity is now calling on Londoners to join their flagship fundraising event, the London Life Hike, on September 27, to raise funds for life-saving defibrillators in communities that need them most.
