Now it will host a dine-in experience where the bold, authentic flavours of Barbados meet modern fast casual dining in dishes which are made from scratch, inspired by family recipes passed down through the generations.
Fans of Barbs’ Deliveroo Editions Kitchen can try top selling dishes such as soused guac and Barbs wings; Bajan fishcakes and pumpkin fritters or mac pie balls – a twist on the traditional Bajan macaroni pie served with a fermented sweet chilli dip.

Sourcing top quality ingredients is also important on a menu which includes Bajan fried chicken and fried fish burgers, marinated in green seasoning and served with soused cucumber, crispy onions and their cult favourite Fancy Sauce.
Diners can also sample Bajan roti wraps filled with curry chicken and potato, or enjoy a Piña Colada waffle which remixes the iconic cocktail with a blend of pineapple sorbet, coconut ice cream and coconut drizzle.
Inspired by his grandmother’s home cooking, Nicc Wright launched Barbs in 2024 with a Deliveroo menu and a range of house made sauces that balance spice, sweetness and tang.
Choose from creamy Fancy Sauce and herby Mayo or the fiery Bajan Hot Pepper Sauce made with cucumber, turmeric and mustard.
“This is a proud step for us,” said Nicc Wright.
“Barbs is all about real food and real Bajan flavour, cooked the way it’s meant to be.
“We’ve taken our family recipes and traditional techniques and created something that feels completely at home in Shoreditch.”
Part of Motherships Group, Queen of Hoxton is known for its creativity and community, and according to MD Andy Maddocks, provides the perfect home for Barbs’ first restaurant.
“We’re excited to welcome Barbs into the Queen of Hoxton family,” he said.
“It’s a brand that brings real quality and originality to the table, and we can’t wait for people to experience it.”
