It comes after the Metropolitan Police was alerted to the incident in Balham High Road at 3.40pm on August 24.
At the scene, a 67-year-old man was found injured and was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The victim, James Gbadamosi, died in hospital on September 5.
His family are being supported by specialist officers.
Andre Wright-Walters, 37, of Avery Hill, Greenwich was charged with murder on September 7, after having previously been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a class A drug on August 27.
He appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on August 28 and was released on bail to appear at Kingston-upon-Thames Crown Court on September 24.
The 37-year-old will now appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court today (September 8).

A 30-year-old woman was also arrested on August 27 on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.
She was re-arrested on September 6 for conspiracy to commit murder and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
