Backyard Cinema will take over London Bridge’s Tanner Street from November 26 to December 31 with its most ambitious Christmas event yet.
Dominic Davies, founder and CEO of Backyard Cinema, said: “We are so excited to be in London Bridge this Christmas with a brand-new experience.
“From the moment guests walk through the door, they’ll be transported to a winter wonderland, filled with all the music, joy and wonder of Christmas where traditions are created, and memories are made.”
Enchanted journey leads to snowy cinema showing holiday classics (Image: Backyard Cinema) The concept reimagines the traditional movie night by blending film with immersive theatre, transforming a Victorian warehouse into an enchanted forest of festive magic.
Audiences will journey through a winter forest before settling in for a screening of a classic holiday film.
The hour-long experience before the film begins includes live music, festive cabaret, and hidden theatrical moments.
Across three themed rooms, guests can explore at their own pace — discovering surprise performances, atmospheric bars, and interactive entertainment along the way.
In the Christmas Cabaret Room, visitors will be treated to live musicians and singers performing classic holiday hits with high-energy table service.
The journey continues into the Enchanted Forest, a cosy indoor woodland complete with real trees and 20 tonnes of bark underfoot.
The setting is filled with themed bars, photo opportunities, and a hidden cabin nestled deep in the woods.
The evening culminates in a carol-singing procession leading to the Forest Cinema, a retro-style theatre where it snows before every screening.
This year’s film line-up includes a mix of family favourites and festive classics: Elf, Home Alone, Love Actually, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Holiday, The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, The Grinch, and It’s a Wonderful Life.
With five screenings each day at 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, and 8pm, the event is designed to suit families, couples, groups of friends, and work socials alike.
Every ticket includes not only the film but also an hour of immersive entertainment and the chance to freely explore the enchanted setting.
The experience is described as a perfect way to kick off the festive season, offering a blend of nostalgia, wonder, and Christmas cheer.
Backyard Cinema is known for its unique approach to movie-going, transforming iconic spaces into cinematic adventures that go far beyond the screen.
Its latest event promises to be its most magical yet, set in its most central London location to date, just moments from Borough Market and Tower Bridge.
Pre-sale access is available by joining the waitlist at backyardcinema.co.uk, with tickets going on general sale from September 26.
The experience runs from November 26 to December 31 at 49 Tanner Street, SE1 3PL.
