Bexley Council says the full length of Ash Close will be shut from June 9 to allow London Operations Connections, working on behalf of Southern Gas Networks, to carry out the works. Although the traffic order allows restrictions to remain in place for up to 18 months, the closure is only expected to last around a week. This happens when a person dies without leaving a will and there are no apparent family members to claim the inheritance. Last October, Bexley Council raised a number of concerns about the development in Parsonage Manorway, which would have seen The Great Harry demolished. Kallarview Developments Limited had initially applied to build 32 flats in a three-storey block on the land, but later reduced their plans to 30 flats. The local authority accepted that there were “very limited prospects” of the pub, which shut in 2021, being reopened in the “foreseeable future”, and said its demolition would be “acceptable”. The incident happened in Leesons Hill near Silverdale Road just before 12.20pm on May 25. An ambulance crew and paramedics in fast response cars from London Ambulance Service attended.  The man was treated at the scene before taken to hospital where his condition is unknown.
