Daniel Bannister was jailed for two-and-a-half years for the manslaughter of his neighbour Rajendra Patel in Croydon in 2012. Bannister had attacked 48-year-old Rajendra leaving him with bruising and swelling to the left side of his face, a broken nose and a fractured ankle and he died 15 days later of a pulmonary thromboembolism, due to deep venous thrombosis of the left femoral vein due to the ankle fracture. The London Borough of Bromley has imposed restrictions for the Crystal Palace Park events on Sunday, June 29, and Saturday, July 5. The closures this weekend are for Deftones, the Grammy Award-winning Sacramento band who have a headline show at Crystal Palace Park alongside special guests Weezer, High Vis, HEALTH and Qendresa. Police arrived and approached suspect Tafari Panton, telling him they would be searching him and the vehicle for drugs. As soon as he was told this, the 22-year-old sprinted off. But unfortunately for Panton, he led himself down a dead end and after a brief chase officers were able to arrest him. The incident happened in St Nicholas Way just after 11.15am yesterday (June 26). Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man injured.
