Patricia Murphy is celebrating her 10th anniversary of leading sewing classes and workshops, helping residents learn everything from upcycling clothes to making gifts from tablecloths. Harvey Toci died aged 16 when a car came off Blake Hall Road and crashed in a ditch at around 12.20am on June 26. The family who has been left grieving say all who knew him “will miss Harvey very much”. 70-year-old Michael Course was killed and a 67-year-old woman sustained life-changing injuries at the junction of Hurst Road and Glenhurst Avenue on June 21. Officers have since confirmed that the woman remains in hospital in the same serious medical state. A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries. All properties in Croydon and Streatham affected by the broken pipe should now have water back in their taps, according to Thames Water. The pipe, located on Commonside East, CR4, caused homes in CR0, CR2, CR4, CR7, and SW16 to experience no water or low pressure over the past two days. Thames Water said the leak has been stopped and excess water drained. The water company successfully rerouted water from other pipes to restore supply. An excavation is underway to fix the damaged pipe. Thames Water warned that water pressure may still be lower than usual during peak times. This…
