Mohamed Awaleh of Mayesbrook Road, Dagenham, has been sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for his crimes. A Criminal Behaviour Order was secured against Awaleh as a result of his “persistent anti-social behaviour and constant criminal activity”. As part of the order, he was prevented from entering a number of high street supermarkets. Awaleh was identified and arrested by officers at the scene of a recent theft that saw him steal more than £200 worth of meat products. Constantin Silvio Ditescu, 55, of Richard House Drive, sustained the injuries in a fall outside Kingsway Pharmacy on the A124 Barking Road, East Ham. He “had been drinking with friends”, said senior east London coroner Graeme Irvine, and “stumbled backwards”. The incident occurred on March 9 and resulted in a “serious brain injury”. He was urgently transferred to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel – but, “despite treatment, he succumbed to his injuries”, the coroner said. He died on March 18. The three were all arrested on suspicion of robbery at the station in Station Parade on April 8. Chris Casey, Chief Superintendent of the British Transport Police, shared the news of the arrests the next day on X. The teens were found by the officers after a phone that was reported stolen the day before was tracked. Following the arrests, the phone was found along with another phone wrapped in tin foil.
