Justin was last seen alive at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Croydon on October 15, 2023, before driving to Waddon New…
At a meeting held on January 23 this year, Dartford Borough Council members agreed that a bidder, then known as Bidder B, would be the new occupiers for ATIK. The nightclub on Essex Road crashed into administration last year when it was announced that the popular nightclub would close. Bidder B was later revealed to be Kevin Spencer, who told KentOnline: “It was a well-established club. “The good thing about clubs like that is they are very unique as they are very rarely built like that now. “It is a purpose-built nightclub in a prime location. “We are thrilled to…

In the mid-2000s Mimer had carried out attacks on a girl aged seven to nine at the time at an address in Poplar and in a vehicle he owned. The abuse came to light in 2016 when the girl confided what had happened to her mother. When he was jailed Det Con Neil Golding described Mimer as a “predatory paedophile”. He also said he suspected Mimer may have carried out other offences. “We are appealing to anyone who has been targeted by Sydney Mimer to come forward…
The thieves targeted the couple as they returned to their car in Glengall Road, just a short distance from HSBC in Kilburn High Road at 11.30am on April 7. The couple had got back into their car when two “European” men knocked on the door, saying “you dropped money, you dropped money”. Despite his wife warning him it was a scam, the elderly man got out to see £150 on the pavement – a technique distraction thieves use. His wife got out to intervene but within four seconds a third thief had grabbed a bag containing the £5,000 from the passenger footwell. The couple,…
Experts warn that these gaps in surveillance are putting public safety at risk and undermining crime prevention efforts. While the council has improved from a faulty camera rate of 58.2 per cent in 2023, 29.5 per cent of cameras remain non-operational as of April 3, 2025. Croydon had 98 cameras in 2023, and experts say this continued unreliability could compromise crime-solving capabilities. Shahzad Ali, CEO of Get Licensed, stressed that CCTV cameras are crucial for both preventing and solving crime. “Buildings without CCTV are five times more likely to be burgled,” he said, urging local authorities to ensure their systems…
Two pigeons have been found with near-identical wounds on the same Charlton street within days of each other, in what a local wildlife group says are deliberate attacks using a catapult or similar weapon. Both birds were discovered on Victoria Way, near Harold Gibbons Court, with injuries described as “highly unlikely” to be natural. The first pigeon was rescued last week with a wound through its wing that lined up perfectly with a second circular wound to its flank. The second bird, admitted on Wednesday, was found just yards away with similar injuries and a suspected serious fracture. Rae Gellel…
