On June 23, Croydon Council’s antisocial behaviour enforcement team obtained a premises closure order against a council tenant in Whitehorse Road, Thornton Heath. This followed claims of serious crime and nuisance behaviour including loud shouting, music, intimidation, vandalism, and drug dealings. The closure order was granted by Croydon Magistrates Court after hearing the alleged details of the criminal activities. Other claims included harassment, verbal abuse, aggressive behaviour, and causing distress to neighbours. People in West Hendon Playing Fields saw an air ambulance land on the green space before 4.30pm today (July 1) following the crash. Medics were called to Park Road and treated a man at the scene before taking him to hospital. His condition is not known at this time. Clark – date of birth January 7, 1990 – previously found himself in court in 2023 after he sent sexual messages to two children.  He was then arrested again on March 28 this year by East Area officers who revealed he had been communicating with a child and had indecent child abuse images. Police have cordoned off Rushey Green today (July 1) at 1.43pm after reports of the knife attack. According to an eyewitness who spoke to the News Shopper, this took place on a 54 bus. Two men in their 30s were found with stab injuries and are in hospital, but it is not known if their injuries are life-changing or life-threatening. A man, whose age has not been shared by the Metropolitan Police, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and affray. He remains in police custody. As of July 1, women and people with a cervix who are aged between 25 and 49 will now be invited for cervical screening every five years, instead of the previous three, provided their screening result shows they do not have human papillomavirus (HPV). This change is part of a national initiative by NHS England, bringing England in line with Scotland and Wales. One of their victims – 84-year-old retired nuclear physicist Leopold Reeves – had his £74,000 life savings stolen from him.  Mr Reeves was suffering from a rare form of tongue cancer at the time of the theft and has since died.  But City of London Police obtained an international arrest warrant and he was arrested in Germany in January. Police have set up a forensics tent on Balls Pond Road, near the junction of Mildmay Park, following the crash today (July 1) at 2.23pm. Medics treated the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Balls Pond Road has been closed both ways since between Southgate Road and Culford Road as investigations take place. Leonna Ruka was visiting family in the area on Saturday, where she travelled to Chalkwell Park to enjoy the warm summer weather. Shortly before 3pm, a tree in the park partially collapsed, with several children caught beneath it, including Leonna. Leonna was taken on to hospital with serious injuries where she died. Essex Police continue to provide support to her family. A six-year-old girl remains in hospital in a critical condition and three other children received minor injuries. Emergency services were called to Kilburn High Road near Netherwood Street at around 8.30pm yesterday (June 30). Officers arrived alongside paramedics and an air ambulance team to find the 16-year-old boy injured.
