The V&A has released details for its new David Bowie Centre featuring 90,000 items belonging to the star, including photographs, awards, musical instruments, album artwork and Bowie’s 1992 Thierry Mugler wedding suit. Other highlights of the collection include song lyrics for Heroes and Ashes to Ashes, Bowie’s desk, props and scenery for concerts and film, notebooks, diaries, letters, and a self portrait. The incident was reported to the Metropolitan Police at 3.43pm on May 14 in Ladywell Fields. Muswell Hill Library closed in June 2023 with Haringey Council pledging refurbishment works would take a year. However the project has been hit by delays and now may reopen in the autumn. Meredith Gurwith contacted this paper after she said her attempts to nail down an opening date were ignored. Drivers are advised of scheduled overnight closures at the Dartford Crossing this weekend, affecting the northbound and southbound routes. Essential maintenance, joint replacement, and waterproofing works will take place from tonight (July 4), through Monday morning, July 7. At least eight caravans and associated vehicles moved onto Wrythe Green in Carshalton on the evening of Tuesday (July 1). Removal could take up to two weeks, according to Sutton Council, leaving locals frustrated that their local green is effectively out of use for the public. Residents told the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) that since the group arrived on Tuesday, there have been disturbances from loud music and barking dogs. It comes after the Crown Prosecution Service authorised the Metropolitan Police Service to make the charges after detectives submitted a file of evidence.  The Met has issued a charge and requisition to Thomas Partey, 32, of Hertfordshire in connection to five counts of rape and a count of sexual assault.  Two of the counts of rape relate to one woman, with the remaining three counts of rape relating to a second woman.  The single count of sexual assault relates to a third woman.  These alleged offences were reported to have taken place between 2021 and 2022, with an investigation commencing…

The emergency services attended the A232 Crofton Road this morning (July 4). Commuters and students found the road closed by a cordon behind which was a heavily damaged Toyota Yaris. The car is alleged to have collided with a number 61 bus. There were no injuries with a patient leaving the scene before an ambulance crew could arrive. A Met Police spokesperson confirmed that the crash was “damage only”. But others expressed their frustration at the road closure and subsequent disruption to their journeys.
