In a statement on Epsom and Ewell Beat, the force confirmed that a collision had taken place outside Blacks Burgers yesterday (July 5) at around 5pm. Road closures were put in place on Waterloo Road, at the junction with Station Approach as well as Horsley Close, and the junction on Station Approach with West Hill. A photo taken by an eyewitness appears to show a car having collided with the side of the building, with cordons in place and a fire engine at the scene. A yellow weather warning is in place today (July 6) until 7pm for thunderstorms across large parts of London and Kent. Today thunderstorms are expected in the south west of England spreading eastwards throughout the morning. Met Office has warned that thunderstorms could also bring outbreaks of heavy rainfall of up to 25mm, with some areas experiencing up to 60mm of rainfall during repeated thunderstorms. The average house price in Sutton is £463,834, according to data from HM Land Registry and Property Solvers. Since 2020, the average property price increased by £62,096 (15.04 per cent) and rose by £12,442 (2.69%) in the last 12 months. In 2024, there were 562 residential property sales, a decrease of 219 transactions (-38.97%) compared to 2023. Free parking at a Bromley car park will soon be scrapped. The London Borough of Bromley has announced changes to the charges at Crown Lane Car Park. From July 21, there will be parking fees at the car park, which currently has free parking. Charges will apply between 7.30am and 6.30pm. For up to one hour, there will be a charge of 60p, for one to two hours £1.20, for two to three hours £1.80, and for three to four hours £2.40. London Fire Brigade was called at around 6:36am to the scene of a fire at a single-storey warehouse on Imperial Way. 12 fire engines and around 80 firefighters have been despatched to the scene, with crews from Croydon, Purley, Norbury and Mitcham. The brigade warned people to “avoid the area” where possible, with the fire expected to be ongoing for “several hours”. As a result of the incident Imperial Way is closed, which could result in travel delays. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Source link
