The upward escalator that carries people from Highgate station ticket hall to street level is open once again. While repairs were carried out, passengers had been left to walk up at least 16 steps to exit the station since last October. Market House will now form a key part of the wider transformation of the town’s Market Square area, the authority has announced, with construction work set to begin in late summer. A 12-year-old boy has died after a flat was destroyed by a fire in Lewisham. The boy, named as Fabian Henry by his family, died in the fire in Lewisham Road just before midnight (July 8), reports Metro. The flames destroyed a two-floor flat and also damaged another, along with the outside of the building. The blaze destroyed a two-storey flat and damaged the one above on Lewisham Road just before midnight on July 8. A boy, named by his family as Fabian Henry, died at the scene. A neighbour told The Mirror: “We first heard people running and screaming around midnight, and then there was a series of loud noises that sounded like gunshots, followed by glass shattering.  “It seems those were the noises of the fire damage. Pupils from three schools in Islington will set up shop at Chapel Market on Thursday (July 10) from 12pm to 4pm. Charlotte Lawlor, 31, was attacked with a knife in front of her family, children and guests at the party in Duckett Street on September 15 last year. She was stabbed by Hope Rowe, of Piazza Walk in Aldgate, following an argument at the party after 1am and was pronounced dead an hour after.
