At least four suspicious devices were found during the searches days after the shooting in Ashford Road in Hollingbourne, on Monday (July 7) Police were called to the scene to conduct an arrest on suspicion of assault, but a man in his 30s was shot by a police officer. He was taken to hospital and remains there in a life-changing condition. A group of around 20 teachers at Harris Academy Beckenham went on strike on July 8 and 9 in protest against the school’s alleged treatment of its overseas teachers as well as their workload, claiming it amounted to racism. The bridge, which carries southbound traffic across the River Thames between Kent and Essex, will be shut from 10pm to 5.30am for essential maintenance. Shoaib Kochay, 22, has died after he was hit by a car in Park Road on July 1 at 4.16pm. Police were initially called to reports of a fight between two people. Witnesses reported seeing weapons before Shoaib was driven at by a car, described as a white Tesla. He was taken to hospital for treatment with life-changing injuries, but has since died on Wednesday (July 9). The Tesla was found a short time later near abandoned near Mount Road. Blue bouquets and notes say Blue Stevens, who died aged 24, will be “forever in our hearts, forever missed”.
