The incident happened in Mount Harry Road at its junction with the A225 Dartford Road, Sevenoaks, at 1.24pm on August 12. The man was crossing the road when he was hit by a red Mazda 2. The driver stopped at the scene, and the victim was taken to hospital. He later died in hospital on August 20. Harlow Council has reported that 99.9 per cent of retail units in its neighbourhood centres and smaller “hatches” are filled, crediting the high occupancy to ongoing investment through its Building Harlow’s Future plan. Police were called to Indian Aroma on Woodford Avenue in Gants Hill around 9pm last night (August 22). Officers arrived with the London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service. Five people were rescued from the restaurant and suffered from burns and smoke inhalation. They were taken to hospital by ambulance where three are in a critical condition. Nine others were able to escape the restaurant before the fire service arrived. There have been no arrests and an investigation is underway.
