The incident was reported to police at the Starbucks store in Broadway yesterday (October 21). The suspects, aged 15, 14 and 13, were arrested on suspicion of multiple offences including criminal damage and assaulting an emergency worker. Elanor Maxey was told she could not bring her dog, named Genie, into the Asda Broadway store during an argument with a security guard who asked to see ID or a dog licence. Developer Barratt London submitted its latest plans to Lewisham Council to build at the former Bell Green gas works site at the end of last year. The two historic gasholders on the land were demolished in 2019, and the area is now earmarked for housing. Under current plans, 262 new homes would be created in six blocks, which would also provide space for shops and offices and 39 full-time jobs. The crash caused severe delays at the junction of London Road and Spring Gardens since around 5.50am today (October 22). Emergency services attended and a man, in his 30s, was taken to an east London hospital where his condition is being assessed. The driver of the car stopped at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said. As investigations were ongoing, the road was blocked both ways between Lonsdale Avenue and Spring Gardens, causing congestion to a mile and a half at either side. Liverpool Street station will be shut from Christmas Day this year until New Year’s Day for engineering and renovation works. The station is the UK’s busiest, with some 80 million journeys being made through the hub each year. During the closure, steel support girders will be placed inside Bishopsgate tunnel and new ticket gates installed at the station for platforms one to ten. The fire broke out in Elm Road near Shortlands Road at around 8.20pm yesterday (October 21). A two roomed flat on the first floor in a residential block of two floors was destroyed by the blaze. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from the flat, however, he was pronounced dead shortly after. 29 residents were evacuated by crews to a place of safety who received support from the local authority.
