Multiple Metropolitan Police vehicles were pictured in Havering Road near the junction with Moray Way at around 3.30pm today (July 21).  A photo, obtained by the Romford Recorder, shows officers standing in front of the open rear doors of a police van.  The van had pulled into a bus stop.  Police parked across on side of the road (Image: Charmayne Headley) Behind the officers two police cars displaying blue lights were parked across one lane of the road, preventing traffic from moving in one direction.  The nature of the incident is unclear at this stage.  We have contacted Metropolitan Police and…

A series of videos taken in Erith, southeast London show a fire tearing across an industrial estate. Twenty-five fire engines and 150 firefighters were called to the scene in Maypole Crescent on Friday (July 11), after flames engulfed a single-storey warehouse.  The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said that three diggers and numerous vehicles were also alight. The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) has said it is probing the July 1 incident, which has been described as a “near miss”. According to the watchdog, the access ramp had been attached to the doorway by platform staff to help a passenger with a mobility scooter who wanted to board the train.
