Essex Police were alerted to the incident in High Street at around 1.15am on June 29.  Two people were found injured and an investigation was launched. The incident happened at around 3.10pm on June 30 when a man in his 50s had a verbal disagreement with another man who began swearing at him. This escalated into a physical altercation at the bottom of the Central Line escalators, where the man was put in a headlock and lost consciousness. Sid Rebai, 36, frequently targeted drinkers in the City of London, police said. This week, the Recorder is looking back at the history of Langtons Gardens – a historical green space in the centre of Hornchurch which has provided the backdrop to many wedding photos over the years. The gardens are home to a grand Grade II-listed manor house, which was built around 1760.
