South east London as a whole saw a 2.6 per cent increase in reported crime from 11,752 offences in June to 12,166 in July. Southwark had the highest number of reported offences, with a total of 3,493, which was down slightly from 3,528 in June. Violence against the person accounted for most cases with 1,325 reports, while theft was the next most common with 830 reports. Benedict House Preparatory School, on Victoria Road in the Christ Church Conservation Area, has applied to Bexley Council to vary its planning permission for a new sports hall and multi-use games area (MUGA).
