In March, a consultation was launched on introducing an express bus service, designated SL11, between North Greenwich and Abbey Wood via Thamesmead. The Superloop bus will follow the same journey as the existing 472 except for a more direct route down Beresford Street in Woolwich town centre, but most of its 40 stops will be missed out. Transport for London (TfL) has said that bus stops that are no longer called at will continue to be served by other local routes. Brendan McMillan, 27, and Terry McMillan, 58, were stabbed to death at a business on Long Lane in Bermondsey yesterday (July 28). They were named by Brendan’s rugby club, which shared its condolences on its social media. Police were called to at about 1pm to a commercial property, where they found and treated four people for stab wounds. Terry was sadly died at the scene and three other men were taken to hospital. A Harris Hawk was rescued from the top of a house in Harlow on Monday evening (July 28) after becoming tangled in an aerial. Firefighter Harry McWilliam rescued the hawk after it became entangled in an aerial (Image: Essex County Fire & Rescue Service) The bird’s owner was visibly distressed and firefighters feared they might attempt to climb the roof themselves to reach the bird. The blaze broke out in Epping Road near Forest Glade at around 12.20pm on July 27 Valerrij Semionov, 29, of Mowbray Close, Epping, was arrested soon afterwards. Semionov has since been charged with three counts of arson and failing to provide a specimen. He has been remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (July 29). Police were called to the Dartford River Crossing towards the A2 following the incident on July 20 at around 7.35pm. The crash involving a black Mercedes GLA and a black Honda CB600 motorbike occurred at the slip road for Princes Road. A man on the motorbike was taken to hospital with serious injuries but has since been discharged.
