Mr Singh – known to loved ones as Gary – suffered a fatal stab wound at his home address in Felbrigge Road on July 23. An inquest into his death was formally opened at East London Coroner’s Court on Wednesday (July 30). Gurmuk Singh, 25, was fatally injured at his home in Felbrigge Road, Ilford, on July 23. He was known to loved ones as Gary. Christopher Patricks, of no fixed abode, was under investigation after the incident on October 11 last year, just before 5pm. Inner London Crown Court heard how the 41-year-old began to hit the victim with his bag while on the westbound Circle line train towards Paddington. Patricks grew more aggressive towards the victim, demanding he move back and saying he wouldn’t let him off at the next stop. Church Elm Lane is set to close on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10 so a tower crane on the site of a new residential development can be taken down by City Lifting Ltd. The dismantling will take place between 7am and 8pm on both days and mean that no traffic can enter the entire length of Church Elm Lane, between its junction with Heathway and its junction with Siviter Way. Bexley Council has waved through proposals to develop 98 and 100 Broadway, the site of The British Heart Foundation and The Works. Under approved plans, the two shops would be saved from demolition. Instead, the first floor of the buildings would be knocked down, allowing new floors to be built above the existing shops.
